Different Internet Connections:
While there are various sources of internet, not all are convenient and ideal to use. The common type of internet connection includes but not limited to dial-up connection, cable internet and DSL.
In dial-up connection, the user utilizes a telephone line to convert analog data that comes along the line to digital data and vice versa. This is very economical but at the same time slow in terms of internet speed. Using a modem connected to a pc, the internet user dials a number provided by his Internet service provider to connect to the internet. Either the telephone or the internet connection has to be compromised if one pts to use either the telephone or internet as using a telephone would mean disconnection.
DSL or digital subscriber line also utilizes telephone line; however, telephone use does not cause disconnection. Both internet surfing and telephone use can co-exist together without compromising the other. DSL provides reasonable speed that can compete with cable internet. This type of connection also utilizes digital signal translation unlike dial –up that utilizes analog.
A cheap cable internet on the other hand utilizes preexisting cable connection and connects the coaxial wire of the cable to a splitter that is also rerouted to the modem. This is also a high speed internet connection.
