Fibromyalgia Diet Options
Although some patients that the symptoms of fibromyalgia can be alleviated by dietary measures, let it be known that there is no specific fibromyalgia diet that treats the syndrome. But in order not to mislead patients with fibromyalgia, the diet plans are based on the nutrient contents of the food including its actions and effects to the body and is not limited only to the patients but also to those who are healthy. But then extra nutrients are needed by the patients with fibromyalgia for reasons which are yet unclear. Some patients reports that after eliminating from their diet heavily refined sugar food and beverages they feel better. Perhaps this is because heavily processed or refined carbohydrates intensifies food cravings and fatigue by causing sudden gush in blood glucose levels that leads to high levels of insulin in the bloodstream, which eventually leads to diabetes. But do not go without food for more than four hours for this might lead to low blood sugar which can cause headaches. Eating small, regular foods is a good precautionary measure. Aside from the extensive muscular and joint pain, another sign and symptom of fibromyalgia is severe headache or migraine attack. Several foods have been discovered to be the triggering factors for the pain. Those foods are chocolates, cheese, citrus fruits, caffeine, red wine and ice cream. And the most important in the diet is water. Always rehydrate with plenty of water as this helps refuel the muscles. Always remember that proper exercise is partnered with a good diet.
